Chezy Nir
Horn
Mr. Nir has been praised for his wonderful horn playing, his artistry and camaraderie. He served as Principal Horn of the Israel Symphony Orchestra-Rishon Le’zion / in-house orchestra of the New Israeli Opera between 1998-2014.
He performed as soloist and chamber ensembles with most of Israel's leading orchestras as well as in Germany, Bulgaria and the USA.
Chezy is a founding member of the New Israel Woodwind Quintet, and is a much in demand Professor at the Buchman – Mehta Academy of Music at Tel-Aviv University, and the Jeruslem Music Academy.
Nir was recorded and broadcast on radio stations in Israel, Europe and the USA, and participated in festivals such as the Jerusalem festival, the Red Sea festival, (where he replaced soloist Hermann Baumann), the Davos festival – Switzerland / performed as soloist with the festival's orchestra, Rolandseck festival and has performed with Members of the Berlin Philharmonic Festivals, Salon de Provence, Gstadt, Kaposvar, and Kfar Blum to name a few. Chezy collaborated with artists such as Yefim Bronfman,Yuja Wang, Emmanuel Pahud, Paul Meyer, Guy Braunstein,Shmuel Ashkenazy, Jerusalem quartet, the Doric qurtet, Andras Schiff, and more. He was personally invited by Maesto Barinboim to tour with the divan orchestra as solo horn numerous times.
Mr. Nir was. invited as a guest to perform throughout the USA with Beethoven's septet and Schubert's octet, alongside the distinguished "Concertante" ensemble. The tour was a great success, which resulted with Mr. Nir's frequent return engagements to the USA. He has performed as soloist with Zubin Mehta, Mendi Rodan as well as recent performances at the Frankfurt Alteroper and in Bulgaria with Mozart & Strauss'
Mr. Nir studied with the late Meir Rimon at the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel-Aviv, and with Marie Luise Neunecker at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule in Germany.
