The Israel Contemporary Players was founded in 1991 with the aim of performing the best classical chamber ensemble repertoire of the 20th century - most of which had never been performed in Israel. The Israel Contemporary Players is widely regarded as the best ensemble of it's kind in Israel. The ICP has played most of the chamber ensemble masterpieces of the 20th century, to unreserved praise for the high standard and variety of it's programs. The ensemble regularly commissions works from Israeli composers which, like all other pieces that are presented to the ever growing number of subscribers in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, are recorded and broadcast by Israel Radio. The ICP appears often in European festivals.
The IPC received the National Lottery Prize for excellence in 2008.
The ensemble is supported by the Israel Ministry of Culture, the Israel Broadcasting Authority, Tel Aviv Municipality and works in collaboration with the Jerusalem Music Center. |
